Frigide Barjot
Frigide Barjot (pun on Brigitte Bardot) born Virginie Merle, born September 25, 1962, in Boulogne-Billancourt, is a French humorist, columnist and political activist. She has become prominent for her campaigns against same-sex marriage in France and LGBT adoption.

Born to a music teacher and a clinic-owner in Lyon, Jacques Merle, Virgine Merle studied Law at Jean Moulin University Lyon 3 and at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris before joining the public relations office of the French gaullist political party: Rally for the Republic (RPR).〔(France debates gay marriage ), Nytimes.com〕〔(France's gay marriage fight ), BBC.co.uk〕〔(Mass Rally in Paris: France Agonizes Over Plan to Allow Gay Marriage ), Spiegel.de〕 She married Bruno Tellenne, alias Basile de Koch, Karl Zero's brother, a political speech-writer, most notably for Charles Pasqua. Together, they founded an organisation called Jalons which specialised in comedy happenings and pastiches of national magazines and newspapers.
